CAROUSEL OF DREAMS release
March 1, 2018: I’ve been hard at work on a new album for several months now. This one, working title, “On the Carousel of Dreams,” will feature all original works for accordion, both solo, and with Bellows Brigade, featuring Will Holshouser, Nathan Koci, and Kamala Sankaram; Nathan and Kamala double on voice. The center piece of the recording will be the 16-minute tribute to Pauline Oliveros, “Pauline, Pauline.”

May 15, 2013: Guy has just been commissioned by The University of Wisconsin/River Falls Commissioned Composer Project to write a piece for open instrumentaiton to be premiered in March, 2014, on an evening of Guy’s compositions performed by student ensembles. The Commissioned Composer Project has been in existence for 47 years. Previously commissioned composers include John Cage, Morton Feldman, John Zorn, Pauline Oliveros, Henry Brant, Mary Ellen Childs, Frederick Rzewski, Barbara Kolb, John Luther Adams, Lois V Vierk, Anthony Braxton, and Julia Wolfe. Guy is extremely humbled and proud to be in such distinguished company.
Guy’s composition, “Chalk Dust,” as played by Accordion Tribe, is used as the intro/outro music for a new documentary film, “Augusto Boal,” by Anita Blumer, about the revolutionary founder of the “Theater of the Oppressed.”
Guy has just been invited to play in the Ukraine for the first time, as a soloist on the opening day of the Book Arsenal Festival, May 24, 2013. Please check back for updates on time and place.
October 16, 2012: Starkland Records re-issues Guy’s classic recordings, “Polka From the Fringe,” as a two CD set.
Jan. 31, 2012: Release date for Guy’s latest cd, The Multiple Personality Reunion Tour on innova. Includes tributes to Erik Satie, Kepa Junkera, Lars Hollmer, Ivan Milev, Martin Denny, and The Swingle Singers. Guest performers include Brave Combo, Dave Douglas, Alex Meixner, Ginny Mac, Steve Elson, Kenny Wollesen, Pete Donovan, John Hollenbeck, Jo Lawry, Marcus Rojas, Theo Bleckmann, Peter Eldridge, and Brandon Seabrook.
DECEMBER 2011: Release of Steven Spielberg’s film, The Adventures of Tintin, with Guy playing accordion on John Williams’s sound track.
Dec., 2010: Guy Klucevsek receives United States Artists Collins Fellowship, an unrestricted $50,000 award.
